11 infrastructure projects in Romania to be continued
The European commissioner for regional policy, Corina Cretu, approved the continuation of 11 infrastructure projects financed with 500 Mio EUR from the EU.
The projects started in the years 2007-2013 and are intended to improve quality of life in the fields of transport, natural disaster prevention, water supply and waste management. Transport projects will shorten driving times thus reducing fuel consumption and as well road accidents. Trains will increase their speed to 160 km/h and so become more attractive for consumers who change from private to public transport.
