Boosting renewable energy investments in Ukraine
The Ukrainian Parliament voted to remove the so-called 'local content' clause in the Electricity Law of Ukraine. Under this clause, the eligibility for feed-in tariffs for investments in renewable energy was made dependent on the fulfillment of minimum shares for goods and services to be of Ukrainian origin. Instead, the Law adopted last week entitles investors fulfilling certain local content quota to receive a bonus on top of the existing feed-in tariff.
It is the intention of the law to remove strict market barriers and to support the Ukrainian manufacturing and service industries.
