Worldwide wind capacity at a level of 336 Gigawatt mid 2014
360 GW of worldwide wind capacity are expected by the end of 2014.
The expansion of 17,6 GW in the first half of 2014 is substantially higher than in the first half of 2013 and 2012, when 13,9 GW and 16,4 GW were added, respectively. By mid-2014 the total worldwide installed capacity will generate about 4% of the world's electricity demand.
Total worldwide installed wind capacity increased from 236,7 GW by the end of 2011 to 360,0 GW by the end of 2014 equalling an average yearly increase of 7,2%.
The ten largest markets for newly installed wind capacities include next to China, India and Germany, Brazil with 1.301 MW, USA with 835 MW, Canada with 723 MW, Australia with 699 MW, UK with 649 MW, Sweden with 354 MW and Poland with 337 MW.
