Serbia approves 5.7% average increase in gas tariffs

The Serbian Energy Agency (AERS), the energy regulator, has approved a 6.4% increase in wholesale gas prices in the last quarter of 2013, when gas prices will increase to US$453.35/1,000 m3 (RSD 39.12/m3 or €34.30c/m3).

According to the preliminary calculation, it is expected that the average gas price in Serbia will increase by 5.7% (+4.4% for households). Distribution fees will not be increased. Since January 2013, large gas consumers connected to the gas transportation networks are no longer eligible to public supply (regulated tariffs); as of January 2015, only households and small consumers will remain eligible.
