Romania awards 432 MW solar in first renewables auction
The allocation includes 432 MW of solar projects and 1,096 MW of wind power, reflecting the country’s commitment to expanding its clean energy portfolio. The average winning bid for solar projects was €0.051/kWh, with the lowest bid reaching €0.045/kWh. For wind projects, the average price was €0.063/kWh, both well below the maximum thresholds set for the auction. Energy Minister Sebastian Burduja highlighted these competitive prices, stating they demonstrate strong investor confidence and Romania's potential as a leader in renewable energy development.
