Bulgaria joins the Caspian-Black Sea Green Energy Corridor
This project involves constructing a subsea cable to transmit green electricity generated in Azerbaijan across the Black Sea to Romania and further into Europe. Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov discussed Bulgaria's participation with counterparts from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Hungary, and Romania during the COP29 UN climate meeting in Baku. The collaboration underlines Bulgaria's dedication to diversifying energy sources and enhancing regional energy security. The Caspian-Black Sea Green Energy Corridor is part of Europe's broader strategy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote sustainable energy solutions. By joining this initiative, Bulgaria aims to integrate more renewable energy into its grid, contributing to the EU's climate goals and fostering regional cooperation in the energy sector.
