Energy Community sets 2025 gas storage targets for Ukraine and Serbia
These targets aim to ensure that both countries maintain sufficient gas reserves to mitigate the risk of supply disruptions, especially during high demand winter periods. For Serbia, the interim targets include reaching a minimum storage level of 23% of annual consumption by 1st February and 80% by 1st September, with specific guidelines to maintain these levels in preparation for winter. Ukraine's targets are tailored to its extensive storage capacity and market needs, ensuring that the country continues to play a key role in regional energy stability. The initiative includes monitoring and enforcement measures to track progress and ensure compliance, promoting resilience to market shocks and geopolitical risks. By setting clear storage targets, the Energy Community promotes a coordinated approach to energy security and proactive risk management across its member states.
