EU Approves €180 Million for Lithuania’s Energy Storage Expansion

The European Commission has allocated €180 million to support Lithuania’s energy storage rollout, enabling over 1.2 GWh of storage capacity across the country.

This significant funding, under the EU’s Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework, is set to cover up to 30% of project costs through competitive bidding, helping Lithuania enhance its renewable integration and reduce fossil fuel reliance. These projects also aim to improve grid stability and resilience, supporting the broader EU goals of energy independence and sustainability.
