255 MW Sopi-Tootsi wind farm in Estonia receives €100 million loan from EBRD

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is lending €100 million to Enefit Green for the construction and operation of the 255 MW Sopi-Tootsi wind farm in Estonia.

This new wind farm will increase Estonia's electricity generation capacity by up to 10%, making a significant contribution to the EU's ambitious greening targets. Enefit Green, a leading renewable energy company in the Baltic States, currently operates 587 MW of installed green capacity and 50 MW of thermal capacity in the Baltic States, Finland, and Poland. This project also benefits from €180 million of parallel financing from the European Investment Bank, with additional funding from a commercial bank. Since its IPO in October 2021, Enefit Green has been listed on the Nasdaq Tallinn Stock Exchange and has close to 64,000 investors. The company remains majority owned by Eesti Energia, with the EBRD holding a minority stake.
