TMK Hydroenergy Power introduces Romania's first floating solar system

TMK Hydroenergy Power, in collaboration with Innovation Norway, has launched the first floating photovoltaic system on the Grebla hydropower plant, which generates over 1 million kWh of green energy annually.

The initiative is a pioneering milestone in the field of renewable energy, as it is an innovative way of utilising both solar and hydro energy effectively. It is expected that the plant could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 300 tonnes of CO2 per year. The floating photovoltaic power plant on Lake Grebla is a unique project that aims to increase the potential of renewable energy. The energy capacity generated may not be impressive - 1 MW. Nevertheless, the project demonstrates the synergetic power and potential of the two renewable energy sources.
