Support for investments in renewable energy in Romania

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is providing EUR 46 million as part of a financing package for the construction and operation of a 102 MW onshore wind farm in Romania.

The Urleasca wind farm is expected to generate 277 GWh of renewable energy per year, saving around 115,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.  The wind farm should benefit from the companies Power Purchase Agreements and contribute to the expansion of Romania's renewable energy capacity. An increase of 11.9 GW is expected in the coming years.
