The Estonian start-up Stargate Hydrogen has received funding to expand its ceramic-based electrolysers

Estonian start-up Stargate Hydrogen has raised EUR 42 million (USD 44.9 million) in equity and grants in a seed financing round to expand its ceramic-based electrolysers.

Stargate has developed an innovative ceramic-based electrolyser that uses different materials and a different design approach to reduce the cost of #green hydrogen to 1 euro per kilogram. To achieve this, the start-up has replaced precious metals with ceramic catalyst materials and used expertise from lithium-ion battery development to apply the electrolyser as a battery system.
