Slovenia's expansion of solar installations reached 400 MW in 2023
Last year, solar energy accounted for 7.58% of total electricity generation in Slovenia. Slovenia is one of the leading EU countries in terms of installed solar capacity per capita. Last year, Slovenia launched a new subsidy programme for rooftop solar installations with an investment of 10 million euros (10.8 million dollars). New regulations for large solar installations were also established and net metering should be cancelled. The government plans to achieve around 3,500 MW of installed capacity by 2030. In July 2023, it also announced a plan to install solar systems along motorways.
