German-Polish cooperation for the further development of solar PVs in Poland
A photovoltaic pipeline with a capacity of up to one gigawatt (GWp) will be installed. The contracts for the implementation of the first four projects in the pipeline with a volume of 355 megawatts (MWp) have now been signed. The four solar parks will be built in the Wroclaw region and in the east of the country. The development phase has already begun. Until now, Poland has been one of the largest coal consumers in Europe. However, the use of renewable energies is increasingly being promoted by the government. The aim is to generate more than half of the required electricity without emissions by 2040.
